02 February 2022

Luuk de Ruiter will make his debut in the HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championship this year, as the 20-year-old Dutchman joins the series from the IDM Championship.

In 2020, de Ruiter was selected for the Yamaha bLU cRU Academy, and last year competed in the Supersport 300 class within the IDM series. His career highlights also include starting his racing career in the Molenaar NSF 100 Cup and the Yamaha R125 Cup, ending the season as the third placed highest rookie. He then made the switch to the R3 Cup, gaining experience across Europe.

Speaking ahead of his first season in Britain, de Ruiter said: “I am excited to be joining the championship as we want to start a new challenge this season. I have seen that there is a strong, competitive field of riders to race, and all new circuits for me to learn too! I am looking forward to this challenge, as it will all be new to me, so I am ready to begin testing for the new season.”
