Red Viper Racing was officially formed at the end of 2005 with a three year development plan in place that would see them progress from the British Superbike Cup to the main Championship. The team got their debut season in the Cup Championship off to a flying start in 2006 with Chris Martin securing the crown in the team's maiden BSB season.

In 2007 the team built on their experience from the previous year with Martin continuing with the Warrington-based squad and battling it out to give the team some top twelve finishes.

For 2008 Aaron Zanotti was signed to ride for the team in BSB and it was a mixed season for the squad, with some point scoring finishes, but Zanotti suffered a heavy fall at Croft which saw him ruled out of the final two rounds.

Aaron Zanotti returns for 2009 and now back to full fitness in time for the opening round he will be looking to secure the team their strongest results in his second season with the team. The squad has doubled for 2009 and Zanotti is joined in the garage by Fast Bike magazine journalist Alastair Fagan, who will run in the Mirror.co.uk Cup.

The team also took delivery of new 2009 specification bikes in late January at their new workshop facility in preparation for the season ahead. The team will work hard this season on developing the new Hondas which includes a completely new suspension by Maxton Engineering and supported by Harris performance.
