A. Flanagan
Team Owner
We are joining the Evo class as it is a great chance for teams who have limited outside sponsorship as such to still be able to compete at the highest level in the UK. We are assured of great coverage for not a lot of outlay, and it will be a competitive, level playing field with the introduction of a MoTeC ECU which is controlled and monitored. We can't wait to get started at Brands Hatch.

Alistair Flanagan formed AIM Racing a decade ago after being involved in the sport as a sponsor, running John Crawford in the Superbike class and Ross McCulloch in Superstock.

The following season the team switched bike manufacturer to Ducati, purchasing the 2002 Steve Hislop title-winning bike. Later in the season they made a dramatic rider switch with Sean Emmett and Steve Hislop set to line up for the remaining rounds. Sadly, Hislop was tragically killed in a helicopter crash on the eve of his debut with the team.

In 2004 the team maintained their partnership with Ducati, signing an upcoming Stuart Easton for the season. However, they were forced to draft in a substitute rider when Easton was forced out through injury and Paul Brown took up the helm for the remainder of the year.

John McGuinness joined the team for 2005 and they switched from Ducati to Yamaha and whilst he did score points in BSB the team's main success came at the Isle of Man TT where the team took victory.

The following season the team switched to the British Supersport Championship with Chris Burns before returning to BSB in 2007 with Steve Plater, combing circuit and road racing.

In 2009 the team were back in the Supersport class with Dennis Hobbs and looked set to be title contenders; however a heavy crash at Thruxton ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

For 2010 Flanagan's team have made the move back to Superbike in the all-new Evo class with road racer Gary Johnson who will also combine BSB with the major road races. Hobbs gets a second chance having now recovered from injury and will be running in the National Superstock 1000 Championship.
