The WFR Honda team made their debut in the 2011 BSB Evo Championship with an ambitious three rider-line up, winning the title with Glen Richards and having some impressive top ten finishes with Graeme Gowland whilst the team also fielded Jake Zemke and James Westmoreland.
The Yorkshire-based operation has evolved from the Embassy Racing squad who were champions in the Supersport and Superstock 1000 Championships with Glen Richards consecutively in 2007 and 2008 and are now eager to add Superbike to the list.
The team have yet to show their true potential in 2012, with the trio of riders scoring top ten finishes but also enduring some crashes in the early stages of the season. However the young guns of the grid are expected to be challenging for top five finishes very soon.
I am thrilled to have three riders that represent the best young British talent, riding for Team WFR next year. We have known for a while who we wanted but to get all three of them is a great coup. I think this line up signals our intent – and that is to win the British Superbike Championship in 2012. As the leading Evo team I like to think we have a little bit of a head start and we’ll certainly use what we learnt last year to the best of our advantage. We are also fortunate in that we have a three-pronged attack with a trio of riders who are all capable of winning races so I am very excited now to see what happens come April.
