The Splitlath Motorsport Aprilia team joined the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship last season with an ambitious double attack on the Evo title running a pair of Aprilia RSV4s. The team ran brothers Chris and Joe Burns on the Italian machinery for the first time in BSB history following several pre-season tests and an extensive development plan.
The team first entered the BSB paddock in 2009 when they ran Joe Burns in the fiercely-competitive Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship, securing several top ten finishes and were eager to fight for the maiden BSB Evo championship win. Hudson Kennuagh joined the team mid-season in 2010 and fought for the title until the final round and he returns with the team for 2011 in the main championship. He will be joined by Jenny Tinmouth who will make history by becoming the first female racer in BSB. Tinmouth and the team then parted company after the third round of the champioship at Croft.
