It is absolutely fantastic that we have secured a rider of Simon’s calibre. Given where BSB is going technically, it is a great opportunity for PR Racing and Kawasaki Motors UK. As a team, we are really excited at the opportunities and expectations for the season ahead, and cannot wait for the Easter weekend and the first round at Brands Hatch.

Team Profile

Team Principal John Jameson started the team in 1995 from a workshop in Liverpool city centre which ran under the name PR Tyres Racing. In 1998 the team moved up to the ACU British Championships and after a successful year finished the season in second place. In 1999 the team moved up to the British Championship in the 600cc class, which they also repeated the following season and also expanded to include an entry in the 1000cc class. The 2001 season the team were back and stronger, ending the season with four wins in the Privateers Championship and 7 podiums overall.

In 2002 Gordon Blackley joined the team in the British Superbike Championship and stayed with the team for three seasons, running midfield in the main championship but also finishing in the top ten at the Isle of Man TT. In 2003 the team also secured the Swiss Auto Superbike Championship title.

In 2005 the team entered the Superbike Cup Championship with Steve Brogan finishing the season in fourth. In 2006 the team continued to build on their previous results and with Chris Martin onboard they were able to secure 18 podium finishes including eight race wins on their way to the title. An impressive set of consistent results edged him ahead of his rivals, with Martin only failing to finish one race from 20 starts. Martin was also able to secure a best result in the main BSB Championship of sixth.

In 2007 the team were back on the grid with Sean Emmett, but he failed to score points on several occasions which dropped the team down the order. He was replaced for the final three rounds with Australian David Johnson who the team retained for their 2008 campaign.

Johnson had a best finish of twelfth place in only his first full BSB season, with the Maxxis Honda team, but for 2009 with a switch to Yamaha machinery 'Aussie DJ' is continued to score points on a regular basis, including a top ten finish at Mallory Park..

Former National Superstock 600 title contender Luke Jones signed for the newly-named PR Racing M/C and Moore Yamaha squad for 2010 and following two seasons in the Junior Superstock class and a British 125GP Championship title he is now looking to impress in the elite class.

For 2011 the team has signed British Superbike favourite and experienced Kawasaki rider Simon Andrews to contend the BSB EVO Championship on their ZX10-R with official backing from Kawasaki Motors UK.
