The Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship is one of the most fiercely-contested BSB support series, with young riders competing alongside professional racers and major manufacturers using the series' to showcase their production road machines. This class has helped springboard riders into the premier classes, including Alastair Seeley, Steve Brogan and BSB Riders Cup winner Jon Kirkham. BMW's secured back to back National championship titles in 2011 with Richard Cooper aboard the Buildbase backed BMW S1000RR.
For 2012 Honda Racing have signed two riders for their title assault, Jason O'Halloran returns and is joined by Gary Johnson, however it won't be straight forward with Ducati 848 Champion Leon Morris riding for Hirebase/Ducati Coventry and 2011 runner up Danny Buchan teaming up with CN Racing.
