The Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship is one of the most fiercely-contested BSB support series, with young riders competing alongside professional racers and major manufacturers using the series' to showcase their production road machines. This class has helped springboard riders into the premier classes, including Alastair Seeley and Steve Brogan who made the move to BSB in 2010.

This season Jon Kirkham was victorious, making history in the championship as he secured BMW's first National championship title on the BMW S1000RR. Kirkham is now planning his BSB campaign leaving the 2011 crown up for the taking.

Jason O'Halloran will be hoping to secure his return to BSB for 2012 aboard the HM Plant Honda Fireblade, however it won't be straight forward with David Johnson and Tristan Palmer joining forces, also with Honda machinery, for GBmoto Racing whilst Richard Cooper will be hoping to stay injury free and retain the title for BMW.
