The Speedy Fastest Lap League was introduced in 2011 to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship season with riders scorching to the fastest lap of the race awarded for their performance.

The season-long league awards a point for each race to the rider that records the fastest lap with an extra point also up for grabs if the rider sets a new lap record with the competition running in both the MCE BSB and Motorpoint British Supersport Championship protected by Datatag races.

Last season Josh Brookes and Glen Richards won the 2012 Speedy Fastest Lap League.

In the opening round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship James Ellison took double points from Brands Hatch whilst Billy McConnell and Alastair Seeley took the points in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship races.

The second round at Thruxton saw MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship leader Shane Byrne and Ellison share the victories whilst in the Motorpoint British Supersport races Alastair Seeley completed a double.

Oulton Park hosted the third round which was dominated by Alex Lowes in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship and Alastair Seeley in the Motorpoint British Supersport class, with Seeley scoring an extra point for the lap record in the Sprint race.
