The Speedy Fastest Lap League was introduced in 2011 to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship season with riders scorching to the fastest lap of the race awarded for their performance.

The season-long league awards a point for each race to the rider that records the fastest lap with an extra point also up for grabs if the rider sets a new lap record with the competition running in both the MCE BSB and Motorpoint British Supersport Championship protected by Datatag races.

At the opening round of the season James Ellison stole the initial lead in the standings, doubling up on points in the MCE BSB class whilst in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship Luke Jones claimed the first point of the season before Alastair Seeley scored the first double points haul of the year in the Feature race.

Josh Brookes onboard the Milwaukee Yamaha took a clean sweep of points at Oulton Park, taking his tally to three to move ahead of Ellison in the standings, whilst Seeley claimed a further three points in the Supersport Championship.

At Snetterton Shane Byrne claimed his first point of the season, but Brookes extended his lead with two points in the second race for the fastest lap. Snetterton marked the first points haul for both Graeme Gowland and Luke Stapleford in the Supersport class as they chalked up their first points of the year.

Knockhill was another big points round with both Byrne and Ryuichi Kiyonari claiming two points apiece from the two races in MCE BSB. In the Supersport Championship Stapleford added to his tally before Luke Mossey added his name to the league table.

The first visit to the Brands Hatch GP circuit saw Byrne add to his tally in the opening race before Keith Farmer became the fifth rider to add their name to the leaderboard in race two. Gowland and Jones then shared the points in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship races.

Kiyonari took his tally to three points at Thruxton, but couldn't make it a double as Dan Linfoot scored his first win of the season to put his name as the sixth rider to feature in the Speedy Fastest Lap League. Mossey added a second point to his tally whilst Glenn Irwin notched up his first point of the season at the high-speed Hampshire circuit.

The Oulton Park triple-header saw the points shared by Brookes, Byrne and Kiyonari. In the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship the points went the way of Seeley and Gowland as the leaderboard tightens up.
