Rouse back in Superstock 1000 with Crowe Performance call up

Chrissy Rouse will contest this year’s Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship under the Crowe Performance banner after roads racer Phil Crowe and his team stepped in to save his season.

Rouse, who had been due to race with MSS Performance Kawasaki in this year’s championship, was left without a ride when the team withdrew from this year’s assault to focus on a 2021 return.

But now he will now line up for the season on one of Crowe’s BMW S1000RR machines and has put together a small team to run himself in the fiercely-competitive series.

Rouse said: “It’s all been very last minute but we’ve scrambled together and Crowe Performance has come in to save the day. Crowe Performance will provide the bike as well as full technical and electronics support which I will hire and then run myself. I’ve had the most amazing support from my sponsors and now we are in a position to hopefully have a good stab at the championship.

“Crowe Performance has kindly invested a lot of money in building me a Superstock bike and the team will be looking after me on the technical side of things and I’ve put my own little team together and will be self-funding the racing. I certainly didn’t expect anything like this, and I just can’t thank people enough for their generosity.”

Rouse has a long-standing relationship with Crowe Performance, having worked closely with the BMW specialists in the past.

Phil Crowe said: “It’s been a hectic three weeks, we were all set to run Matt and I was going to tag along and do a few rounds to keep myself fit and then Chrissy called out of the blue asking if we could help.

“It’s been a crazy few weeks but now we’re heading into the season with three bikes and riders and although it’s been hard work, I believe it’s worth it to help someone as talented as Chrissy get back on the grid this year. We’re all delighted to have him as part of the Crowe Performance squad.”
