Rhys Irwin takes Superstock 600 victory in Silverstone stunner!

Rhys Irwin took victory in a stunning Pirelli National Superstock 600 encounter at Silverstone, taking victory on the final lap from Daniel Brooks with Liam Delves rounding out the podium.

It was Championship leader Luxton who made the best of starts, grabbing the holeshot from the lights and pulled over a half a second gap from the chasing pack after the opening lap, Laffins and C. Irwin chased him down. However, on lap seven, Luxton made a slight mistake and dropped down to seventh, handing the lead to Rhys Irwin.

By half race distance the safety car was deployed with Simon Reid leading a six-man dice for the victory, as the car returned to the pits only seven laps remained and the battle ignited once again.

With just a handful of laps left Jack Nixon took over at the front, with Reid hot on his coattails they began to pull away from the chasing pack, but the pair collided with one lap remaining, handing the lead to Brooks. On the final lap Reid passed Brooks for the victory with Santander Salt TAG Racing’s Liam Delves third.
