Irwin grabs maiden Dickies British Supersport win as Farmer crashes out!

Andrew Irwin took a dramatic win in the opening Dickies British Supersport race at Brands Hatch whilst title rival Keith Farmer crashed out on the opening lap. It was Farmer who had the holeshot to be leading the way however disaster would strike the Championship leader just moments later when he crashed out at Graham Hill.

Ben Currie held the early race lead after Farmer's crash, however Irwin moved past his team mate on lap four. and would be unchallenged to the flag. Whilst the Spirit machine of Alastair Seeley eventually took the lead on the track, with the Moto2 machine not eligible for points it meant Irwin would take his maiden Supersport victory and gain an important 25 points to close to within 18 points of Farmer with just one race remaining tomorrow. Completing the podium was Currie in second and David Allingham third.
