Immediate International interest in new British GP2 series

The British GP2 Championship was only announced days ago, but already Dutch based Chassis Factory, has announced their interest in the new series, which will run alongside the Dickies British Supersport Championship from 2018.

Chassis Factory has taken up the challenge to develop a modular GP2 concept, and have unveiled the GP2 “Chrome” frame kit.

The Chassis Factory GP2 frame is constructed using chromium molybdenum tubing. By using different inserts to adjust the head stock and swingarm pivot to change the geometrics, the Chassis Factory GP2 “Chrome” frame kit has the same setup possibilities as Grand Prix Moto2 bikes.

The first frame kit is based on a Honda CBR600RR stock bike, but on request the concept is available for all other Supersport machines allowing teams several options to suit their budget requirements.

The other bike parts like wheels, front suspension, brake parts and fairing are used from the existing Supersport machine making parts widely available and the class therefore more affordable.

Project Leader Brian Slooten said: "Chassis Factory is very pleased with the announcement of the new race series. With the “Chrome” framekit we offer a concept that is competitive and affordable for all budgets.

"The “Chrome” frame kit has been tested and has already seen competition with a wild card entry at Assen earlier this year.   This winter we will develop a range of technical updates to offer development possibilities and technical support.  Chassis Factory is committed to make the most of design, fabrication and analysis to achieve the goal of winning."
