Godfrey joins Quinnstheprinters.com by Team IMR

Quinnstheprinters.com by Team IMR have today (Wednesday) announced the signing of Ben Godfrey for the remaining four rounds of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

The Isle of Man-based squad will concentrate their efforts on the Long Eaton rider between now and the end of the season with the 23-year old joined by highly experienced Adrian Gorst for the remainder of 2018 with the former Honda Racing crew chief overseeing Godfrey’s campaign.

Godfrey has been contesting the Dickies British Supersport Championship this year but will turn his attention back to the Superstock series where he enjoyed some strong rides between 2015 and 2017. Last year saw him score points on five occasions, with a best of 12th place at Thruxton.

The team have a test planned for Godfrey at Oulton Park this weekend prior to making his official debut for the team at round eight of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Cadwell Park on August 17-19.

Godfrey said: “I’m delighted to have signed with Quinnstheprinters.com by Team IMR for the remainder of the season. Both myself and the team have had a tough start to 2018 and I am confident that I can put the team back where they should to be! I have never been in a team who can offer me such good support so I’m really looking forward to it! Having a team full of experience providing me with their extensive knowledge I am confident we can hit the ground running and be back to where we both deserve to be.”

“Testing starts in a few days and I can’t wait to throw my leg over the BMW S1000RR for the first time! A big thank you to Ian Moffitt for believing in me and getting this deal sorted so quickly! A massive thank you as well to all of our sponsors including Pete from Quinnstheprinters.com, Platform Hire, Jez Gibbins from GT Couriers and HJC Helmets.”

Ian Moffitt, Team Manager commented: “Ben is a talented rider and we had the opportunity to work with him a while ago which we both wish had happened much sooner. He’ll get to test the bikes this week and then will use the next round at Cadwell Park for further testing.”

“We’re also delighted that Adrian Gorst has become the team’s crew chief as he brings such a wealth of experience with him whilst Simon Clark, who has been fantastic for the team all year, will also work on Ben’s side of the garage. We are now looking forward to the remainder of the season and chasing the early season form the team had.”
