Dominant Dickies Supersport double for Mackenzie!

Tarran Mackenzie took another victory at Brands Hatch in the second Dickies British Supersport Championship race, making it three wins from three starts. The second race saw a dramatic beginning as spots of rain saw Irwin crash out of the lead, with race one podium man Keith Farmer also crashing unhurt, necessitating the red flag to be deployed and a shortened 14 lap wet race declared.

On the restart it was David Allingham who led at the end of the opening lap but race one winner Mackenzie soon moved back into the lead and was able to pull away from the pursuing pack to claim his second win of the day. Behind the McAMS Yamaha rider it was a battle for the final podium spots as Team Quattro Spirit rider Alastair Seeley picked his way through the pack to cross the line second on track, however not eligible for points it was Farmer who was able to bounce back from his earlier crash to claim the 20 points with early race leader Allingham taking the final podium spot.

The sole Gearlink Kawasaki machine of Ben Currie finished fifth ahead of Joe Francis, Ross Twyman and Bjorn Estment. After retiring from the opening race of the day, Jack Kennedy claimed ninth place on the GAC Logistics MV Agusta whilst rookie Sam Clarke rounded out the top ten.

Tomorrow’s third and final race will see Mackenzie start from pole, with Ross Twyman and Alastair Seeley joining him on the front row.
