Buildbase Suzuki stay fastest, but Ryde has the upper hand ahead of Datatag Qualifying

Buildbase Suzuki remained top of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship timesheets at Silverstone this morning; however it was Kyle Ryde who claimed the top position ahead of this afternoon’s Datatag Qualifying session.

Gino Rea had set the pace for the team on Friday, however in the final free practice Ryde was able to stake his claim to the top and maintain the position in the closing moments, with the top 18 riders covered by 0.856s at the chequered flag.

Jason O'Halloran had surged up to second in the closing stages for McAMS Yamaha, to displace Josh Brookes from second on the leading VisionTrack Ducati.

Danny Buchan had a stronger free practice session this morning, setting the fourth fastest time for the Rapid Fulfillment FS-3 Kawasaki team, nudging Luke Mossey back into fifth place ahead of yesterday’s pace setter Rea.

Joe Francis had another positive session in seventh place for the Lloyd and Jones Bowker Motorrad BMW, narrowly ahead of Peter Hickman, who had run as high as third place earlier in the session for the Global Robots BMW team.

Bradley Ray held ninth place for SYNETIQ BMW, just ahead of championship leader Glenn Irwin who had a small crash early in the session.
