Currently the home of the Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix, this former wartime airfield circuit can boast being one of the world's foremost motorsport venues. Silverstone hosted the first ever round of the F1 World Championship in 1948, and over the years has developed to meet the needs of the modern sporting era. The circuit held the British Motorcycle Grand Prix for a decade, following the event's switch to the mainland from the Isle of Man and has staged World Superbike Championship action in recent years in addition to the domestic series. For 2010 BSB will be racing on the new Arena GP circuit.
