Wilson Racing has announced their line-up for the 2021 Honda British Talent Cup with a three-strong team featuring James Cook and Ryan Hitchcock, who return for a second season, and are joined by 12-year-old rookie Luca Hopkins.
Cook finished in eighth place in the final standings in his debut season in the class in 2020 with four top six finishes. Hitchcock also impressed in his rookie campaign, ending tenth place in the final standings and scoring points in all 10 races in addition to two British minibike titles last year.
Hopkins joins the team after finishing as runner-up in the British Minibikes Ovhale 110 Cup. He makes the step up to Moto3 machinery and is ready to learn the tracks in his rookie season with the team who claimed the Hel Performance British Motostar standard class title in 2017 when Cook’s older brother Max celebrated victory for Wilson Racing.
Team Owner Gary Wilson commented: “The Honda British Talent Cup is a great series to watch young talent grow. In the past, we have had riders such as James’ older brother Max Cook as well as Scott Ogden and Dan Jones, who all later on in their careers went on to ride in the Red Bull Rookies Cup.
“Our goal is always to bring on and develop the youngsters. Both James and Ryan had a great first year in the series and I am confident they will do even better this year. I am looking forward to working with Luca Hopkins in what will be a learning year for the young rider.”
