Mackay announces 2021 Honda British Talent Cup campaign

Harrison Mackay has announced he will line up for his first full campaign in the Honda British Talent Cup this season, following a successful wildcard appearance in 2020 for the True Heroes Racing affiliated junior rider.

Mackay made his debut with a wildcard at Donington Park, where he narrowly missed out on a point-scoring finish. This year he will continue to be affiliated to the unique True Heroes Racing organisation, which he has been involved with over the past two years whilst competing at the Fab-Racing Championships, and the same team his father lines up with on the grid.

Harrison competing in association with True Heroes Racing enables the team to offer even more opportunities for wounded, injured and sick UK service personnel and veterans, as they become directly involved and benefit from activity as members of the team at the races, re-invigorating and enthusing them on their personal recovery and rehabilitation journeys.

Mackay said: “I’m really excited to be entering my first full season in the Honda British Talent Cup. As a newcomer to the championship, bike and circuits I am under no illusions this will be a tough and challenging year, but I’m over the moon to be racing with the same number and the same team around me as my Step Dad. I can’t thank my Mum and Dave enough for providing me with this opportunity, my personal sponsors and for Phil for allowing me to continue to support True Heroes Racing, but also to have them supporting me.”

True Heroes Racing Founder and Team Principal, Phil Spencer added: “It’s great to continue our affiliation with Harrison in 2021.  Ever since Dave started racing with us at Assen in 2018, Harrison has been a part of the team, so it’s great for us to be a part of his racing progression. For the last two years he’s been actively promoting and raising awareness of True Heroes Racing amongst the younger generation at Fab-Racing.

“For Harrison to want to continue to be affiliated to True Heroes Racing as he steps up to the BTC, and offer us the opportunity for more wounded, injured and sick UK Service personnel and veterans to benefit from becoming involved working on his race bike is great.  As an organisation we can’t wait to get Harrison and his bike into the awning among our other team members.”
